The Mona Lisa is in color, which is not as interesting for the mind to process. When a portrait is in black and white, you can color it yourself in your mind. Eric Clapton’s portrait is an action portrait whereas the Mona Lisa is stationary. When portraits are in motion you can feel emotions going through your body. Eric is concentrating on playing with his eyes closed and the Mona Lisa's eyes seem to follow you where you go. The Mona Lisa has a background which matches her clothing, unlike Eric Clapton’s portrait where he just has a plain gray background.
