The Mona Lisa was painted with oil on a poplar wood panel, and Lenin was painted with oil on canvas. Da Vicnci used a limited art palette when he was painting the Mona Lisa. I get a depressed hopelessness sort of feeling when I look at it. Lenin, on the other hand, has a very bright lively mixture of colors.

When I look at it, I feel like Warhol might have been given a raise at work. My reasoning is kind of weird but it makes sense to me. I think that Warhol didn’t like his boss but when he gave Warhol a raise he liked him a little bit more. Because of this he painted a portrait of a person with some of their body missing, to me, symbolizing some good and bad in every person.
