The Most Memorable Portrait Paintings

The Mona Lisa is widely recognized as one of the most famous paintings in existence. It is believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506 by Leonardo Da Vinci. One thing that everyone notices is that she has no eyebrows. There are many theories why she doesn’t have eyebrows. But the most prominent is that she may have shaved them off to follow the trends of the time. I think this painting is very intriguing, it makes you wonder what she is thinking of and why she is smiling. The Mona Lisa is a very realistic painting. I especially like the shadowing and the background because it is a nice example of sfumato.
