Students will learn the basics of video production by creating a ninety second advertisement of their favorite art project. The video must include an interview or a personal opinion, an example of the project, a cultural or historical connection, and a perceptual analysis of the project. It must be carefully story boarded according to guidelines established by Mrs. Goldman. Students will discuss setting, shot composition, and audience. Students will select their own partner and determine through brainstorming what is necessary for the production and research. All students will be required to demonstrate that they can:

  • plan, research, and make a storyboard
  • work productively with a partner
  • operate a digital camcorders, a microphone, and a tripod
  • use correct shot composition and good set design
  • present accurate and interesting information
  • import the video into iMovie
  • edit the video, using credits, sound, and transitions in iMovie
  • they can entertain their audience (their classmates)

At the beginning of each class session there will be a discussion of one of the key concepts of media production and how they apply to video.
