Once upon a time in Japan, before the time of war started, there was a small village called Asuka. All the women in the village were not beautiful. They were born pretty, but as they got older they lost there beauty. But their heart was beautiful, they will do any thing to help someone that need help.
Their was a young woman named Kinu. She was about fourteen or fifteen year old, and she was beautiful, because she was born in another village. She felt so sorry for all of her friends that lost their beauty, but their was nothing she could do to help them.
One day, a Buddhist nun came to the village, so she asked her if there was something that she could do to help the women in the village. The nun told Kinu to wash her face with cold water at midnight of full moon, and imagine about people being beautiful. So she did. At the night of full moon she washed her face with cold, cold water and imagined about every body in the village being beautiful, both outside and inside. Then she fell asleep, when she woke up, she had a beautiful mask in her hand. All the people that looked at her face gasped. She didn't know why, so she looked into the water to see her reflection. She gasped, her face was different. She wasn't ugly, but she didn't look pretty as she use to be.
Then she knew that the mask she had in her hand would help the women. So she told all the women to put the mask on. When they took the mask off they were beautiful. After that all the women in the village were beautiful, both outside and inside. Kinu wasn't beautiful anymore, but she had a beautiful heart.
