The portrait project was a value study of the skin tones on the face,and a project to learn how to use Photoshop both creatively and thoughtfully to express a personal feeling. Students chose any hue but needed to paint in the light and dark values accurately. Before beginning to change their image students were asked many questions such as: Who do you want to be? What purpose do you want to portray? What color or special effect best represents you now or in your future? How would you like others to react to your image? What feeling or emotion would you like to portray?
