Task #1: Writing Your Evaluation and Opinion for a Podcast
1. You are the curator of a major museum and have put together an exhibit of Renaissance and Baroque Portraits. You need to select one of the portraits for the cover of the exhibit's catalog. Which portrait will you select and why?
2. Research the artists to select your favorite Renaissance or Baroque portrait painting and gather information about your favorite painting. Create a folder titled "portraits" in your starr locker. Save a large image of your favorite painting in the folder. Create a Word document and type in historical information, title, artist, style, and date of the painting. Copy any useful quotes from the internet and be sure to cite them.
3. Use the same Word document to write your analysis of the portrait after you have completed your research. First, you need to evaluate the portrait by using the Elements and Principles of Art.
4. After your analysis you need to interpret the portrait and give your personal opinion and reasons why you chose the portrait.
5. Spellcheck!
6. Read what you have written out loud, correct grammar and fluency.
7. Condense your report if necessary-it should be between one to one and a half minutes in length.
8. Create your podcast using Garage Band and iTunes. Send your completed mp3 to Mrs. Goldman via InClass.
