V: and here are the announcements for Thursday September 9, 2009

First an announcement from the student council. Wait that’s me, I' m Vice President

Heather:  and I’ m the --------

V – that’s right!

H - Sure Vivian, what can we tell the parents about the Jordan Jag-a-thon coming up next week?
 
Vivian:  Oh right!  It’s so exciting! This will be a major event to raise funds for student activities here at Jordan.

Heather: It is a walk-a-thon that we are calling the Jag-a-thon that will be held here at the Jordan field on SUNDAY SEPT 20th from 11-2.  Come and bring the whole family!



LAPTOP - CUT AWAY TO PICUTRE OF JAGUAR

Vivian:  Students will find sponsors to pledge money per lap or give a flat donation -- and then walk around the perimeter of the field.  There will be pizza, Jamba Juice and bake sale items on sale.
 
Heather: BTW – parent volunteers are still needed  - please see the Jag-a-thon link on the Jordan website to sign up or to download forms!
 
Vivian:  This is our main fundraiser for the year and The money raised goes to the Jordan ASB which funds:
- lunch and after school clubs
- intramural sports and other lunchtime activities
- student awards
- helps with end-of-year field trips
… and more!
 
 Jordan used to hold a Magazine Drive that raised a lot of money and funded all of these things by itself!  But we are trying something new this year.
 
Heather:  Yes, we are trying a few things to raise the funds – a direct appeal in the beginning-of-year packet and this Jag-a-thon.  Please support student activities and make a pledge for the Jag-a-thon.  



LAPTOP CUT AWAY – PLEDGE SHEET

Vivian:  Remember – it’s on Sunday, September 20th from 11-2 – Come out and join the fun! And get some exercise Too! See the Jordan homepage for information and forms!
 

H: on another note………Families, as you all know INCLASS is the place where students communicate with teachers
V: Right, homework is posted there etc.
H: Parents, if you have more than one child in PAUSD secondary schools, you need to login as your oldest child, using his or her student
ID#.  You will then see a dashboard in which you can toggle from one of
your children's classes to the other.
 V: This is a NEW and helpful option so
that you do not need to login for each individual child.  If you have any
questions, check the Jordan website under inclass for further information.
