Sense
of Community Task Force
2002-2004
We would like to foster a sense of belonging and caring
within the entire community, including school staff, parents and
families and students. We want to honor continuous improvement and
achievement in an environment that is based on respectful and caring
relationships. We, the Jordan community, are all in this game of
education together. We are the "village" and we are all
on the same team!

Subgroups:
| 1. Developing Team-Building Strategies
Subgroup Activities:
Working together toward common purposes while supporting one
another in those efforts. Develop a trusting environment.

2. Continuing New Teacher Support
Subgroup Activities:
Offering the teachers new to Jordan and new to teaching the
support they need to feel successful. Sharing successful practices
with colleagues and developing strong working relationships.

3. Touchy-Feely Stuff (Works with social committee)
Subgroup Activities:
Foster a welcoming and appreciative environment. Develop strong
working relationships. Provide opportunities for celebration
and social time. |
2002-2003:
- Had Staff Recognition/Kudos at every Staff Meeting
- Ice Breakers so the Staff could get to know one another
and SMILE!
- Teacher-Student games through Intra-Murals
- Work with the Social Committee
- Staff Survey to compare data from previous school year

2003-2004 (continue as above) + these
ideas:
- Cookers and Eaters
- Book/Movie Club
- Family Picnic
- Golf Tourney with Paly
- Feb. Friends (with Social Committee.)
- Fun Runs/Walks. (i.e.: Moonlight Run, Juana Run, Bay to
Breakers.)
- Iron Chef (with Andrea)
