Personal Statement:

My roles as a parent of two children who have spent their formative years in the Palo Alto Unified School District (currently 7th and 12th grades), a substitute teacher (grades 5-12) and an elected member of the Palo Alto City Council, offer me a unique perspective that
encompasses the whole school community: students, teachers and parents.

In addition to helping monitor and develop the School Plan to fit the current needs of the Jordan community, my focus is to ensure the safety and well-being of each child, to ensure teachers and staff have the appropriate resources and environment to inspire lifelong learning in all children and to fully incorporate parents' vital role in the whole child development.
