- Report on actions to date
- Survey - suggested study group per Ruby Payne study group now meeting at
Jordan
- Meeting with parent group and with Joy Addison
- Meeting with Ed Council
- Plan:
- Implement study group re differentiated instruction
- Define the "as is" re what is actually happening at Jordan
- Presentations to staff re differentiation
. At next staff meeting and a presentation on Jan 19, leading to department meetings for sharing Best Practices
- Meetings planned in Feb and April for teachers to assist in implementation strategies
Review of New Surveys of Jordan Community
- Revised questions reviewed and accepted.
- Committee will revise and give in February.
- Request for help from Site Council parents and other teachers to help with
student survey
Monitor Current School Site Plan
- Forms distributed for members to review School Plan in an ongoing manner.
- What are we not doing: literacy skills as a focus
- Hillary and Suzanne will develop monitoring form for March meeting
SEBI Reports
InClass -
- Problems not being fixed by software company
- Information article in Jordan Journal in December
- Teachers developing skills faster than did for Homework Hotline
- Parents still like old email system
- Training available for teachers
- Helpful if parents would communicate to teachers successes and failures
with using InClass
Posters
- Reviewed the locker rooms for existing posters
- Sources found for both posters and frames to hold them
- Approximately $700 would cover purchase costs
Publicity
- Jordan Journal article planned
- Would welcome information about activities
Breakfast or lunch with administrators
- Students new to Jordan invited to lunch with administrators
- Planning to invite different groups of students to lunch each month
International Festival
- Still in planning stages
- Gathering ideas from staff
Principal's Report
Highlights of happenings at Jordan
- Mentor program involving 21 staff members
- Gate staff development
- Diversity staff development planned in February - Gay/Lesbian panel
- Framework for Understanding Poverty study group - highly recommend reading
- Middle School Implementation presentation to Board, includes report on progress toward teaming
- Working on preliminary schedules for teams to get idea of how teaming would work for Jordan
- Charitable fundraising - ongoing efforts at Jordan. Suggest student council review activities. Bake sales can be replaced with healthy snack sales.
PTA Report
- Co-president resigned because child left school.
- Stamm taken on co-president's role of JFC Vice President
- Just Buy It! program implemented via website
JFC Update
- Pot of money : PTA, not from Student Council this year
- Used for Teacher Reimbursements $200/$300:
- Teacher Grants : deadline moved to February
- Should there be plans to add Site Council money to JFC grants
