Pennies for Patients pizza
parties took place last week.

(received email from Linda Lenoir) for Central Valley farm workers.
Clean Campus Campaign (C
Cubed) - will take pictures of campus mess and show it on JTV (hope to change
habits)
Green Citizen Campaign
Was a meeting this week for
potential candidates for student government
Question – are drives
communicated via eNews? Canned
food drive was spur of the moment.
Green Citizen will be sent
out via eNews
When will bins be out for
electronic equipment? In two weeks
will have boxes around school and presence in the library
Will be assemblies for all
three grade levels on the 21st
PTA Report
Election tomorrow night.
Student council spoke about
Green Citizen.
Int'l Fair a great success
– difficulty getting enough volunteers.
Staff appreciation
Principal's Report
Music Department Proposal
distributed for next monthÕs consideration
Budget - Carry over of
$19,500 (before we vote on anything today)
Has the library carryover of
2K been included or not?
Katia Peterson on budget this
year and next – Reviewed her schedule and proposal; this is to handle the
anti-bullying program
Need to consider $4500 for
the three days sheÕll be here at the next meeting; can come up with questions
for her
She canÕt come up with a
concrete plan until she meets with the staff, parents, and students
Will she come to Site
Council? (Potentially after the
meetings to present plan?) – not sure if June or Fall
What prompted the potential
contract with her? Have been evaluating anti-bullying programs for over a year.
Don't believe that there's anyone on staff with expertise to implement
comprehensive anti-bullying program.
Will she be involved with
Guidance Wheel curriculum? Related
to bullying – yes
To do: Review the SIP Plan (will we need to
edit or adjust according to info from the survey)
Safety Plan
Are there any questions with
regard to the Safety Plan? As no
hard copies, will vote on next meeting.
Last drill – Glenn
volunteered
Students well behaved
Staff good at proactively
trying to solve problems
Amazing what two people
(parents) can do mess everything upJ
Can PTA/School disseminate a
list on proper disaster behavior/protocol?
To Do: View Safety Plan and email Chris with
any comments or bring them to next meeting
Will vote on next meeting
7th Grade
Science Proposal, Social Studies Proposal
All proposals in the future
must include tax and shipping.
Science proposal with
addition of monies for videos - $1,931.98
Could the IMC order the
videos? Sense that all schools will be teaching this at same time; this is 7th
grade curriculum – FULL AMOUNT APPROVED
Social Studies (approved #1
& 2 previously)
3 & 4 – have access
to multimedia cart
Printer request – needs
to go through Tech Committee
Conveniently situated
printers – take to Tech Committee & address the security issue
Cover DVDs & shipping and handling up to $750
APPROVED
Music Proposal – HELD
UNTIL JUNE
Analysis of Survey
Open to General Discussion
No parent comments –
Defer to next time
Teachers
Overall happy to be in teams
Big issue – teams are
too big; something that will persist as numbers of part-time teachers growing
InClass question –
there are departments that donÕt give HW (should have an N/A portion)
Students
Teams limiting in terms of
social contact
Lack of coordination for test
dates
Lack of balance in terms of
activities
Coordinate Team Activities
Approachability –
counselors and principals; is it an appropriate question to pose? Involve principals in team activities
Aside – Question
related to Peer Helping and Guidance needs to be restructured for better data
Might need to tweak wording
for general student population (many comments from students that they didn't
get wording)
The three surveys need to
work together; who should author them?
