Attendance of the teachers was taken and can be found in the Principal's Office.
Agenda approved. Minutes approved with change to the discussion on teacher grants indicating the overall budget is increased, not an individual grant.
Correspondence
There were no visits or correspondence for this Council meeting.
S.Barbarasch went over the binder contents briefly for the new participants.
Leslie Goldman presented a status on the Technology Budget in preparation for additional funding to be requested in upcoming meetings.
The State has provided a new, one-time allotment to Jordan of $51,000 which must be spent with the approval of the Site Council. There are other State funds coming for art, music and P.E. as a per-student allocation, and some for a one-time equipment and materials expense.
The kick off PTA lunch was successful. The first Executive meeting was to be held the week of this Council meeting. Budgets are to be voted on by the PTA membership at large Wednesday evening at the general meeting, along with the State of the School address by S.Barbarasch. There is still a need for an editor for the Jordan Journal for this school year.
Walk/Bike to School Day is to be held in September.
Conflict Resolution Consultant, Jack Hamilton, asked to speak to the Council to update the group on last yearŐs successes and things learned. A request for funding for this school yearŐs programs will be coming at a later date.
There was no Student Council Report this session.
Millie Balsam and Karen Ersted were elected as Co-Chairpersons for the school year.
Andrea Mone was elected as Facilitator and Maripat Wilkins was elected as Recorder. One of the teacher positions on the Council must be a one year term due to the absence of Kirsten Missett and Andrea Mone was selected to be the one year representative.
Other Business
A brief review was led by S.Barbarasch of the Draft School Plan and the money available for Site Council discretionary spending.
Retreat dates In November will be selected next meeting as well as speakers. Council members can request speakers at this time as well.
