2. 2nd and 3rd unexcused absence = trash pickup
3. Must give letter to Chirag or Kevin with excuse
4. Removed member will result in special elections – very embarrassing!

2. Maybe meetings twice a week if weÕre really busy; meetings will be on Monday
3. Worse case scenario = meetings three times a week (only once last year)
Student Council Officer Expectations
1. Not kidding about letter policy; take things seriously!
2. Were not forced to join Student Council; no one should have to remind you to attend meetings, you should just want to come here
3. Be role models for your peers!
Budget
1. Budget secretary (Mrs. Perry) worried about budget
2. WeÕve spent too much in the past
3. May be making big decisions about money this year
Fundraisers
1. Message of helping out (philanthropy) is lost on kids when theyÕre competing so much over the fundraisers - They think about winning; not about helping out
2. Maybe not have so many fundraisers
3. Maybe have more time for officer goals/promises - Last year student council rushed; some really cool ideas left out
4.4This year YES magazine drive because weÕre under contract
5. Next year hopefully we can replace that. DoesnÕt bring in a lot of money.
6. Need more fundraisers/money because we donÕt have enough money to cover the current yearÕs budget
7. SUGGESTION: Idea Box in office, maybe separated by grade. Outside input!
8. Decide whether ideas are reasonable in Student Council meetings
Officer roles Defined
8th grade President: run meetings, work with other student council members, go to site council meetings, make sure things get done
8th grade VP: similar to president, substitute for president if heÕs absent, not all site council meetings
7th/8th grade Secretary: take minutes, site council meetings 1 quarter. Give minutes to president every week.
7th/8th grade Treasurer: money-related work
7th grade President: help run meetings, if president and VP arenÕt here, run meetings. In charge for 7th graders
7th grade VP: help out president, substitute for president
Site Council Meetings
3:30-5:30, one Tuesday/month. Always on Jordan campus
