Site Council Meeting
1. Site Council Survey was reviewed
a. Talk about trying to rearrange the teams so that there are three teams in each grade instead of two so communication is easier
b. Many people said that the teams hardly communicate in their comments, but oddly most of the votes said that their teachers always or usually communicated.
c. Language of the questions may have been too difficult for some students.
2. GreenCommittee Meeting
a. Pretty interesting meeting—talked about how to make Jordan more environmentally friendly
b. There will have two more meetings and then let Jordan kick it off
c. Many parents and they want more teachers and Student Conncil officers
d. District budget problems—we need to cut down on energy & waste
e. Debate on fluorescent lights.
f. And if teachers go out for x minutes, should they turn off their lights?
i. Turning lights on and off reduces their lifespan.
ii. Should we have lights with sensors? (Turn on when they sense someone in the room.)
Food Drive
1. Linda Lenoir, the District nurse who asked us to help out, requested that we extended the food drive to next week.
2. We want to stick with our original plan of making it a small thing, so we'll just announce it everyday this week and on Monday next week.
3. It may be better for her to do a pickup this Friday and next Friday because the donation bin is overflowing.
Clean Campus Campaign
1. Plenty of pictures for JTV
a. Voiceover on Cam B?
2. On Tuesday and Thursday on Cam B w/ reminders
3. Custodian ends up picking up 80% of our trash.
4. People knock over trash cans as jokes/dares.
5. Make posters the same time as making the food drive posters.
GreenCitizen
1. Amanda and her mom made a new flyer for GreenCitizen and they emailed it to Addison.
a. Could email to the Community Kiosk—deadline is today at 5pm. Chloe will try to get it in.
2. An idea--Have GreenCitizen donation boxes around our school for the rest of the year. It would be Student Council's responsibility to empty it.
3. Could also pass out flyers around our neighborhood for more publicity.
4. Maryssa & Britta have pretty much finished their segment for GreenCitizen. They will finalize it next Tuesday and burn it on a disc for Student Council.
Next Meetings
