We started a little bit later to wait for more Advisory
Representatives to come; sadly, only 20 reps attended. (Last time there were
40!)
New Direction
1. We're not doing the Turkey Trot this year.
2. We're thinking about getting ideas from you and instead of doing fundraisers, we could devote time to implementing them.
3. Reps' Ideas
a. Lunch spot between the B and F wing, like benches and tables so that area could be in use.
b.
Fix up trash! The school gets littered a lot. (Already planning to work on
this.)
c. Students volunteer to work at the lunch lines to speed up the lines.
i. Potential problem: Students might give out free food to their good friends. It didn't really work out.
d. Talk to P.E. Department:
i. Pool water is disgusting and there's litter and soggy food in there. The water was also green latelyÉ and it's supposed to be blue.
ii. Have the lost P.E. clothes separated by type in a bin so it's easier to find. There's basically a haphazard pile there that's dirty and stinky.
iii. Tell P.E. teachers to let their classes out on time because the students are getting to class late. It's getting to be a problem and the teachers don't write passes.
e. Pride Assemblies are boring and eighth and seventh graders don't get enough Pride cards.
f. Maybe make the Pride Assemblies optional, like only people who get Pride
cards should go. But then there'd be no teacher supervision.
g. All students do who attend clubs or play in an after school sport should get a Pride card for participating.
i. More exciting prizes instead of just gift cards.
Club Update
1. Fifteen clubs are up and running. Even though some clubs didn't turn in their things on time, we still let them go.
2. Even if you didn't sign up for a club, you can still
attend if you see an interesting one on JTV.
a. However, make sure you talk to the club sponsor and founder first.
3. We should also check up on the clubs to make sure they're doing what they promised to do.
a. Fashion Design Club hasn't been doing activities related to fashion. They've been watching movies and just talking, so it's more like a socializing club than a fashion one.
