Earth Week Activity Ideas (May 27-30):

  1. Mr. RoachÕs Idea: Take all the food in the trash, and cut it neatly and decorate a table with it. Then, we can put a caution tape around it and tell students that it is from the trash.
  2. Mr. RoachÕs Other Idea: Mr. roach has a game in which you put a can in, then you can play a game. If you win the game, you get a lollipop. In the process , you are recycling.
  3. Soak up a sponge and bring it to the other side, wasting the least amount of water.

 

Chosen Idea: Number three, the sponge activity

 

Tuesday       -        Video for Earth Week- Simone B, Juliana M. , Amanda B.

Wednesday   -        Reduce Activity (sponge activity)

Wednesday   -        Reduce Pollution (bike/walk/carpool)

Thursday      -        Reuse Activity (making things out of trash activity)

Friday          -        Recycle Activity (put all the trash in the trash can activity)

 

2. Maryssa- In charge of finding out about the JLS dances, so that we might be able to hold a dance

Maryssa emailed the head of student council and leadership (K. Nygaard), and she said that she would be able to help us. She wants to know what we need to know and talk about. The following list has been made by student council to show what changes we would like to make to the current rules:

  1. Cell Phones- no pictures or cameras, since some students are on the Òno picture allowedÓ list
  2. Dancing- no freaking, needs to be appropriate
  3. Dress Code- spaghetti straps allowed etc.
  4. Location-
  5. Supervision
  6. Lighting- dim
  7. Leaving- staggered for different grades
  8. Food- small room with snacks to sell, good food that people will look forward to
  9. Themes
  10. DJ and Music- DJÕs we know about and that are good

 

  1. Luke will have edited the elections packet by May 2nd.
  2. Vivian L. and Simone B. are meeting Thursday at lunch to discuss the ÒDear AlexÓ project.
