Mrs. Sano
Meeting Start: 12:29
- Parents
in Charge of 8th grade promotion party have not accepted the
$500 we decided to give them. Instead, they will pay for it and we will
use the $500 on our school. Because of this, we do not need to do another
fundraiser.
- Fundraiser:
maybe we could have a fundraiser where we could sell stuff to students
instead of parents and other adults
- Conferences:
We have $300 in our conference budget to use to go to conferences. If we
were to go somewhere out of the city, it is pretty expensive. There is a
San Jose Conference on February 20th.
- Advisory:
Mrs. Sano has to push out her advisory every time we have a meeting, so
the school is suggesting that they split up her kids into different
advisories and the Student Council members become her advisory..
- Environmental
Team: instead of elections, maybe we could have each person willing to
apply to submit information on a form we will make. We are going to go on
JTV, create a new date for the informational meeting, and then have
everyone submit forms. We can attach a teacher recommendation a form to
fill out also. The environmental team can then decide if they need to
break the vote.
Vote: Should we have forms to
submit for the election
Result: All think we should have
forms.
- Mrs.
Pearson: New Principal comes for a visit . Each person introduced
themselves to her.
- What
we have to do for the rest of the year:
- Green
citizen
- Environmental
team
- Advisory
representatives elections
Vote: Should we do advisory
representative elections and just get input from people in the student council
box
Result: All would like to have a
box instead of elections.
- Second
Semester Club Sign-Ups
- ODFL
fundraiser
- Homework:
Think about a vision for the futures student council. We need to take into
account the timeframe. How can you get students more involved with student
council?
